SUMMER TOYS

|| WITH SUMMER IN FULL SWING AND THE inevitable summer slump of retail sales just ahead, now is the time to keep some momentum going with our brands. Today’s idea is just that. We’re using classic summer toys as creative styling photoshoot props.

From hoola-hoops to foam pool noodles, to innertubes & floats. These props are an ultra affordable way to infuse some fun into your brands next summer campaign photoshoot. I love the idea of mixing in a few accessible styling ideas for boutique brands with smaller budgets, or those social media teams who need a constant stream of engaging ideas. Its as easy as sending your intern out on a quick dollar store run to pick up a couple foam noodles ( that coordinate with your product of course) to really get some fun and fresh new content images.

A few TIPS for this creative styling idea:

  1. Plan your prop colors! - coordinate with your scene or your brand for more impactful images

  2. Use your summer toy props to create frames or visual lines. (See how the bottom right images frames the model?)

  3. Keep the smiles of your models to a minimum unless you are a commercial “happy” brand.

So consider this one if you are in need of some quick styled brand content in between your larger seasonal campaigns. Tell your brand’s story in a new way, coordinate with your recently launched product selection and use this as an excuse to take your team out of the office.
