Sad Party Girl

|| A MOODY STYLING DIRECTION I HAVE

been loving lately is a what I like to call the sad party girl. When it comes to creative styling there is something I have always loved about a moody model. It creates a bit of mystery within the storytelling of the visuals. After all sometimes we only have a few seconds to capture the attention of potential clients as they scroll by.

The sad party girl pose will incorporate a model slouching, pouting or resting her hands on her face.

She is usually in a chair, at a table, or even on the floor. We don’t want any smiling or laugh here unless you are a cheerful brand. However the whole idea here is a mood shift that your customers are not used to seeing in their feed.

This directive will work great for holiday campaigns or for a party like setting or scene. It becomes especially stunning when paired with a luxury location setting.

The opposite works as well if you place a gorgeously styled garment or model within a grungy or less kept place. The bottom right blog tile image displays this well. Placing an editorial look into an casual courtyard setting. (peep the plastic chair trend from the last blog post)

Let us know if you are going to try this on your next creative content shoot. Hope this helps, as I am a mission to help you level up your brand styling.
